Uninstall Manager is a fast file removal program. When first opened, the program takes a snapshot of your hard drive, and backs up your Startup and Registry files. Subsequently running the program automatically shows any new files that have been added to your drive. This scan is performed in lightning time, and once completed, allows for easy removal of any new files, in addition to a manual restoration of your Registry. Though billed as an uninstall program, this is really more of a file maintainance utility that performs a valuable service, and performs it well.

Uninstall Manager is an extremely valuable utility that will keep your system free of unwelcome files. If you frequently add and remove programs, you'll find that many files are left behind. Programs can also alter a registry and directory without asking you. To exasperate the situation installation packages will sometimes inject bulky files into your Temp directory. The result is clogged system with configurations that can conflict with software you want on your computer. 
  
Well, now you don't have to get angry, because Uninstall Manager will restore your system to the way you had it before. By scanning your directories, the program will note any changes that occur in your hard drive. After following the normal installation routine, use Uninstall Manager to check and delete the dregs. If a program makes unfavorable changes to your system, use the Backup and Restore feature to get things back to normal. With Overwrite Checking, the program will even find DLLs that may have been changed. Uninstall Manager offers a few options, including the ability to clean your Netscape or Internet Explorer browser cache. 
  
All of Uninstall Manager's functions are accessible from an Explorer-style interface. It's resource-efficient and works surprisingly fast. This shareware version is fully functional, but expires after 30 days. Uninstall Manager receives five smileys.

Uninstall Manager is a program for cleaning unwanted clutter off the hard drive. It works by taking an image of the disk and registry files before software is added, and then it allows you to compare your current profile with the image and decide what to keep and what to trash. Since the advent of Windows 95, most programs come with their own uninstaller. Why, then, would you want or need a specific program to do the same thing? Many commercial uninstall programs track changes to your system, but run constantly, monitoring the files and directories at the expense of your precious system resources.
