About
Me
I was born on the 14th of June, 1974, in Samsun, Turkey. Samsun is a small and lovely seaside (black sea ) city. I lived there until I went to university in Ankara (capital of Turkey.) Now I live in Ankara.
My computer history began with "Sinclair ZX spectrum 48K" when I was twelve years old in 1986. At that age I was playing games rather than programming. First programming experience started with a broken tape loader. Without a tape loader I couldn't play any games so I learned "Basic". One year later Commodore 64 was becomming a legend. Its graphic, music, and programming capabilities were excellent, and I bought a C64. I worked with PC systems at college (intel 8088) They had a green, two colour monitor, no sound and no mouse. I thought that PC is not for me, and I bought an Amiga which has lots of colour, sound and a mouse. But I continued to use PCs at college and I learned the "DOS" operating system when I was fifteen. |

Maybe the most important thing in my life was learning English at college.Yes, my English is not perfect but it opened a door to the whole world. With English I gained complete mastery over computers. I met a lot of people from all around the world. I traveled to many countries including Germany, Netherlands, Italy, USA, Taiwan, China...
Ok , now I have to get back to my computer history, I started to study Mechanical Engineering at University when I was eighteen. (do not ask me why I did not study computer engineering ... ) PCs became more popular in 1992.I bought a 386/40 (AMD) with VGA graphic card, colour monitor , 4 MB Ram and a Soundblaster. DOS was more popular than windows in those years. To have a good knowledge on DOS was a sign of professionalism in computing. I made my first programs with Basic. Later I felt that Basic was not enough for me. I began to program with "Pascal + Assembler". Borland's TurboPascal was excellent to program anything for DOS. I wrote lots of programs, but some of them were useless. My first program that had a use was a label writing program. My father's "piston ring" manufacturing factory began to use it to write labels for their products. Later I wrote a program with a friend (he is a good programmer) that had a very large use. It's name was "BatchPro". It was an analyser for autoexec.bat , config.sys and it could make any necessary changes for you to have more conventional and EMS memory. ( I don't know if anybody remembers this memory chaos, especially with games.) With the release of Windows 95. there was no need for "BatchPro" and I stopped developing it. After my 386 I bought a 486/33 , Pentium/75 , Pentium/166 , Celeron/333... Upgrading never ends..
With windows 95 ,I began to use Delphi which is something like Visual Pascal. My DOS based assembler was not working with Windows 95 and I learned windows programming. (to have the control over windows) I began to write "Uninstall Manager" in 1997. It was my biggest project. I think that every computer user wants to keep an eye on his/her harddrive. I wanted it and started to program U.M. for my personal use. Later some of my friends used U.M. and liked it very much. And I decided to develop U.M. more and publish it for all windows 95 users. My goal is to make U.M. easy , fast , and powerful for any user. Currently U.M. is being used in over 40 different countries. I am getting lots of e-mails from clients. They wrote that U.M. is very helpful to them and it keeps their system tidy.
Lastly, I want to write some more about me. I like to ride bicycles, work out at the gym, and swim. My choice of computer game types are strategy and RPG. (Best games ever: StarCraft , Civilization , Master of Orion , Fallout) I like to listen to electronic music
(New Age.) My favourite artists (and singers) New Age: Vangelis,
J. M. Jarre , Mike Oldfield Pop : Sting , Madonna , Celine Dion ... Best song ever : "Everything But The Girl - Missing "
Now I am 26 years old and I don't know what life will bring me in the future. Maybe this makes life much more interesting and worth to live.
